I’d love to meet you in person and the best way to do that is go on a food tour in San Francisco with me. At Edible Excursions, we offer private and public tours. I lead ones at the Ferry Building and in North Beach. Put a group together and I’ll lead you around for a delicious way to learn about food and San Francisco history at the same time.
I love to teach cooking and I did so for 35 years at schools including Draeger’s in San Mateo, San Francisco Cooking School, Rancho La Puerta, and Tante Marie’s. I also love being a student, and I finished an MFA in creative writing at the University of San Francisco at age 56. I used to teach food writing courses at Stanford Continuing Studies. I post any new news about that or classes @tuesdayrecipe on Instagram.
If you are an Ina Garten fan, another one of the wonderful things I’ve been doing for the past several years is interviewing her on stage. The last time we spoke was about her new memoir, Be Ready When the Luck Happens. I consider myself lucky, too, that I’ve gotten to spend so much time with her. She is a gas!
When I’m not cooking, I’m usually writing, about food and other things. Here’s a taste of some my articles:
Uncle Tim Cook Outed Me, Too, San Francisco Chronicle
Talking Less Turkey, San Francisco Chronicle
Loving Large Plates, San Francisco Chronicle, with Sam Whiting
Father’s Day Breakfast in Bed, Ciao Bambino
And of course, there are my cookbooks…
